The Schaper Bros. caught this whale by
accident.
They where fisherman on Long Island,
where there still must be family of them.
The Schaper brothers where brothers of
my grandfather. Their names where Pieter and Arie. We don't know who
Nick is. Probably one of their children.
There must be a diary from their journey
in 1905 from Holland to America in the Long Island Maritime Museum
in West Sayville.
